“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
During this season of Thanksgiving and time of family gatherings, I want to take this time to thank God for being blessed with one of the most GIFTED families I have ever seen! Our family consists of those who are preachers, teachers, lawyers, beauticians, tailors, entrepreneurs, workers, salespersons, athletes, government officials, secretaries, construction workers, doctors/nurses and more. We’ve made an impact on the Football field, Political field, Medical field and even overcome the Cotton field. It is in the diversity of gifts within this family that we see why we won’t ever FIT IN! There is plenty of wisdom, faith and knowledge that overflows. Studies show there are some characteristics that we can all attest to that make us different.
Gifted people enjoy exchanging ideas with other gifted people and many love to engage in intense intellectual discussions. One of the most outstanding features of gifted people is their sense of humor which differs from others and consists often of subtle jokes, intricate teasing or puns. Gifted people often find that their jokes are met with silence because they are not understood lol.
Gifted people have a special problem awareness. They have the ability to predict consequences, see relationships, and foresee problems which are likely to occur. Those who are gifted are usually either extreme risk takers or reserved in planning out each move strategically.
The Gifted most times develop their own method of learning and grasping concepts which can lead to conflict with others who don’t use or understand their method.
Gifted people have normal feelings of anxiety, inadequacies and personal needs. We are often confronted with the problem of having too many abilities in too many areas in which they would like to work, discover and excel.
Gifted people are often driven by their giftedness and may be overwhelmed by the pressure of their creativity. Gifted people may have a small circle of friends or sometimes only one, but the relationships are meaningful. We are independent thinkers who do not just automatically accept the decisions of others.
It is in our understanding of our gifts that we give God the praise, because He is the GIVER of every good and perfect gift. Although our gifts may change and differ, God is STILL the same! He is the Father of Light who provides us with light, and this little light of mine, I’m going to LET IT SHINE!! Shine on Fam!!
