Our History...
The following is a Pope family history document drafted in 1995. The data on the early generations was compiled from research conducted by the late Rev. Jesse H. Walker and by Kevin C. Pope. Other sources were the February 1992 issue of Heirousalem Communications; the 1993 family reunion program booklet Family Coming Together; the 1995 Walker/Pope History Committee; obituaries; and, from completed questionnaires submitted by the family members themselves.
The current history committee is working on updating this document, along with one focused on the Walker family. They will also work to create similar documents for the Bates and Roebucks.
